So with the current threat of Covid-19 and restaurants and eateries closing here in the UK it’s made my life that bit harder in getting my hands on Mac & Cheese to review (not a complaint in any way I assure you! There’s SO much bad stuff going on that not going out for Mac & Cheese is super low on the list of super bad stuff!) ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
So yeah, I’m all done with issue #14. Well, I have a couple of speech bubbles I need to add but that’s a small thing and for some reason I’m really finding it hard to just finish this book off. (Why?)
But lookit! Here’s the update (updated, updated) cover to #14 (still missing them speech bubbles)

With all the grim news just now I’ve retreated in to my head and just got on with doing artwork and I’ve now completed all the shadow blocking for issue #15! So a silver lining to everything going on(?)
This also does mean I should be a bit more chatty going forward as I show previews of completed pages from this book.
Fingers crossed I’ll be working on issue #16 soon which then means a new collection! Yay!
More soon! Bear hugs!
Oh man, something occurred to me today and it’s that I’m procrastinating with finishing this book!
I posted yesterday how I’ve started going back and making further changes and I realise that in part I’m procrastinating as I don’t want to get started on a full final page that I want to redo.
And yeah, I’m going in and making changes like this!

But although I’m procrastinating I’m being productive! I mean, I realised that Rizos was holding her staff in the wrong hand so I fixed that and then I realised that she couldn’t then be pointing at Selop if she was holding her staff so I had to fix that.
And yeah, on the next page Rizos is holding the staff in her left hand so it had to get there so why not update/fix the issue now?
So I’m procrastinating but it’s useful procrastination. Is that a thing?
More soon! Bear hugs!
I know, I know, I’ve talked about these guys before but I had something to add and that’s down to my now colouring them!
You see, I’ve done a bit of an update on all their clothing since last time and when it came to working out what look to give each character I had a bit of a brainwave on one of the looks!

So the stripe/line effect on the clothes was originally how I wanted the Shoal’s skin to look with the lines (but not the colour scheme which would have remained with the pink and purple)!
But although I really liked the design but it proved way too difficult to run across the skin from panel to panel so I had to abandon it. Dang it!
I guess it looks kinda like the skin of a slug, yeah?
But yeah, I was real happy to have thought of adding a wee nod to my early designs in to these two pages!
More soon!
Bear hugs!
With my bad luck this week (which went on in to this morning) it’s taking me a stupid amount of time to get issue #14 finished and it’s beginning to get a bit tedious!
I’ve already updated the pages and gone through my first run of colouring but now I’m finding there’s panels that really need fixing that I passed on my first update! Like… this!

Like, why did I put a wall on the third left of the screen? Well yes, I just wanted something in the background that wouldn’t take you away from Lloyd’s speach bubble but a wall? And so close up it just looked like a block? And like, there’s not even a wall that close to the characters!
So yeah, things like this are putting me further and further back.
Especially as originally I put in a bunch of aliens in the background on my first attempt at updating this only to then feel that I’d done that on the previous page so went with a blank background instead.
I need to finish this book before I go crazy!
But yes, wall is gone. And although I’m also hitting a mental wall I’m going to smash through it and get this book done! Dang it!
More updates to follow!!!
Bear hugs!
