So back in 2018 I had a plan for a new project. The whole idea really came about finding something for me to to do in my lunchbreaks at my work and the idea that I could draw a panel a day and put a comic together with little planning.

The idea floated about in my head and in 2019 I started sketching out the characters while making a few notes of potential ideas of what the book would, or could, be about.

And then 2020 happened and working from home became a thing and the idea of doing a sketch in my lunchbreak really didn’t matter or make sense any more. Instead I found this new project as a great form of escape and was able to split my focus between working on Lloyd and the Bear (my safe happy place), Urp! (where I could release my inner turmoils) and this (something new, different, and out of my comfort zone).

I still stuck to the idea of very little planning along with the doing small story snippets that would tie together (somehow!), and doing a panel (or two) was something I could do anywhere in either my flat or out in a park or the like.

With changing my location and working in a different medium of paper and ink I found the whole process  not only a rewarding new experience but also got me to feel more relaxed – necessary, right?

I’ll be speaking more about Fenton Hud over the comings weeks/months  but for the moment here’s the cover of issue #1 (with two different colour variations – as always with me I’m not sure which one to go with yet!)

Please, please, PLEASE, let me know what you think! I’m so excited about this book as it’s very me but also something I’ve not tried producing before!

Hope you like it! Bear hugs!
