We’re available on Comixology!

May 9th, 2013 | by Gibson

A while back I mentioned that I had some big news for you but at the time I wasn’t able to tell you (actually, I think a couple of times I had big news that I never told but that’s not the point…..).

But yeah, here it is! Issue #1 of Lloyd and the Bear can be purchased from Comixology then downloaded to your device or PC! I was soooooo excited when I got an email from Comixology approving my book. Good times!

I’m planning (hoping) to release the following books on a monthly basis through out the next year. This does sadly mean removing the books from here though (although I’ll leave a preview of each book) which is something I’ve mentioned before. I kinda want to leave them up still but then I don’t know if that would cause issues so yeah, they’ll be getting removed soon. Sorry…..

Man, I give you good news and then end on a downer. That’s not the best is it?

But hey, get reading them books just now while they’re still up, okay?

Bear hugs!

So, what’s going on at the ending of Issue #9?

May 6th, 2013 | by Gibson

Okay, so obviously it goes without saying that you really need to read issue #9 before you go any further here as this will contain spoilers!

I really want to talk about how issue #9 ends as I figure it was a bit of a shocker. What’s happened to Lloyd? Is he okay? Well, you see, I really can’t tell you that. Yet.

Now if you’ve looked at the picture in the back of the book showing you the cover to Issue #10 you’ll see that it’s only got Bear and that’s because we won’t actually be dealing very much with Lloyd in this issue! The thing is I also don’t want to upset the younger readers so I’m going to give you a small synopsis of what’s happening in the next issue! Are you ready?

*ahem*

Bear speeds towards the Universal Hospital where he hopes to find out what is ailing his fallen friend, Lloyd. As his journey continues he thinks back to an earlier time in his life when he was on Bur and fears that his actions then, like now, has put someone else in danger.

Okay, we cool? Issue #11 will have us jumping back to the present and we’ll see the outcome to what’s happening with Lloyd! (Please don’t panic before then!)

More soon! Bear hugs!

Free Comic Book Day and more!

May 3rd, 2013 | by Gibson

It’s FCBD tomorrow which means not only loads of free comics but other cool events happening at comic stores all over the world!

To get in on the action I’ve got copies of the Lloyd and the Bear activity book available at Mega City Comics, Orbital Comics, and Gosh Comics. If you are dropping by and don’t see the books do ask a member of staff and try and get yourself a copy.

Mega City Comics also has a full run of the first nine issues of LatB so if you’re missing a couple of issues then you’ll be able to pick them up there! (Sorry to anyone who isn’t close to London but I can only go so far with getting my books out but don’t forget the Activity Book is available to download from the link at the top of this page!)

On other news I came across a video that I’ve been interviewed in which is so cool! Look how dressed up I am!

Finally, I’ve been having a couple of days break from doing LatB work but this morning started on the first page of issue #10. It’s not a story you would expect after the ending of #9 but I’ll tell you more about that this weekend!

Books!

May 2nd, 2013 | by Gibson

I’ve mentioned before how we’ve been asked if we would ever do collected editions of Lloyd and the Bear. When I first printed LatB it was as a black & white collected edition of the first four issues and then after that I started selling the single issues but in full colour. Well now I’ve gone back and collected not only the first four issues but also the following four and all in colour! Whoop!

Here’s a photo of the old book along with the two new volumes!

The second book has a bit of a wordy title doesn’t it?

Recycling!

May 1st, 2013 | by Gibson

As much as I love my Transformbear prints I can’t help but keep looking at the centre of the Autobear picture and focus on Bumblebear (yes, I even named him as I was putting the print together).

I really love how he came out and so I’ve gone and taken him from the group shot and put him on a t-shirt. What do you think?

I figure I need to get working on a Grimbear t-shirt……

We have a new display stand!

April 30th, 2013 | by Gibson

As we come out with more and more prints I realised that there was only so much space on our table at conventions to show all our prints.

Sure, we have the two folders to allow people to flip through but not everyone wants to stop and spend the time to do that. So what to do?

Well, I decided to come up with a second stand to have behind our booth that’ll highlight some of our prints and it’s BIG! You won’t be able to make it out from the photo but it’s larger than a door and kinda puts our other stand to shame. Eek!

Now I’m thinking I should have taken a photo of both stands side by side. Ah well, they’ll both be on display at London MCM Expo so I’ll be sure to take a photo then!
